Two arrested after shots fired in Saskatoon Friday afternoon

Residents of Avenue B North near Idylwyld Drive were disturbed on Friday afternoon when they saw a “suspicious vehicle” and a “suspicious male on foot” in their neighbourhood and heard gunshots nearby.

Around 2 p.m., police were called to the area. As they followed up on the residents’ reports, they tracked down a Dodge minivan that had previously been reported stolen, parked nearly three kilometres away in front of an apartment building on Avenue W North.

Police went into the building and arrested a man and a woman. When they arrested him, police say the man was in possession of a 9mm pistol.

As of 3:45 on Friday afternoon, police say they don’t believe anybody was injured during this incident, and officers are still investigating.
